This has been one crazy week (or so…)

Friday 3/12
We headed south to Moundsville to Grand Vue Park. (grandvuepark.com) for the Winter Happening for Christian Endeavour (CE).

We stayed there through Sunday morning. See wvce.info for somewhat of an update. I need to post more there

Sunday 3/14
Sunday was my beautiful brides birthday so we went to Smokey Bones in Robinson PA for dinner. Talk about yummy!

Sunday night is when things started to go awry…

It was the opening night of the Hancock County Crusade.

Nick was asked to sing. He is only 9 so that is a great honor for him. I played guitar for him while he sang City on our knees by TobyMac.

I was feeling quite sinusy but could not let my boy down.

Monday 3/15
On Monday I woke up for work with a headache so strong I could not tollerate light so I stayed home from work. I ended up sleeping the majority of the day.

It was also my late brother Bobbys birthday. He would have been 39.

Tuesday 3/16
Not much different than Monday. Stayed home with the headache.

Wednesday 3/17
My 2yr Anniversary at US Steel, but I was stuck at home with the headache only this time it was accompanied by nausea. Blah!!!

Thursday 3/18
One more day at home but with a trip to the doctor. He said the headache was not sinus but more tension caused by something muscular or even a kink in my neck. He sent me to have a CT Scan for safety sake. He also prescribed me two medicines. One for nightly use and one to take when/if I get another headache. I was also told to saty home one moe day to test the affects of the nightly pill.

Friday 3/19
I woke feelling pretty well. The headache was still around, but not nearly as bad. We also had movie night at the church for 3rd grade and up.

Saturday 3/20
The headache was still hanging about. Just enough for me to know it was there. I helped a buddy with his computer. The wife and I decided to head to her grandmothers for the weekend. She is not doing well. Gramma has cancer. Her health has been deminishing slowly.

That brings us to today.
We ate breakfast at the hotel and drove over to Grammas house. After a couple hours, I brought out younges son and my niece back to the hotel to swim for a little while. Then we drove back to Grammas. We are about to pack up and head on home to get ready for the Easter egg hunt for CE.

- Till next time
Endless Faith
Nodes of Ranvier

My God, my God, Heavenly Father!
I feel forsaken.
Disgrace and shame consume me.
Eternal night now reigns.
Daylight engulfed by shadows,

Gone, everything I loved, just a memory.

My God, my God, Heavenly Father!
Disgrace and shame consume me.
Eternal night now reigns.
Daylight engulfed by shadows,
I pray to end this agony.

Release me from this living death, welcome oblivion.

My friends they offer only cruel indifference.
You did this to yourself,
now you must pay the consequence.
I can’t believe how fast companions turn their back
Another cruel reminder nothing ever lasts…
It’s gone…

[Chorus]

You give and take away
Blessed be Your name.
I cannot comprehend all the workings of Your hand
But still I will wait, hold fast to endless faith.
Overwhelmed and torn apart but never abandoned
When it seems that all is gone.

[Chorus]

Hold fast!! With confidence!!
Overcome your doubt with endless… faith.
Conquer. Prevail.

Today began with some EC Dropping and then this post.

Later we will be heading to Nick’s final soccer game of the season. He is really doing well. This is the first sport he has kept excitement about throughout the whole season. Basketball is next starting this Wednesday.

Later today we are heading to the Good Zoo at Oglebay for Boo at the Zoo. The kids get to dress up and walk through the zoo collecting candy along the way. We also ride the train while we are there. It is a great time.

Does not sound busy by the number of things, but it will definitely be a long day.

Donovan has already shown us that he is in his stubborn, insubordinate mood today. Looks like some time out time will be handed out in between the events of the day.

Add a couple of icky sinus issue fighting parents and it makes for a long day.

Saturday evening… cold, rainy, and boring (as usual)

Kim and I took the boys to McDonald’s for their Bakugan toys… errm I mean dinner… and drove to some different used car dealerships to look for a car for me. My mom is driving a pretty beat up piece of junk and I want to give her the one I am driving now. I am leaning toward this one.

Anywho

We had not been home more than an hour when our Minister calls and asks me how quickly I could set up the portable sound system in an alternate location… Of course I asked him why etc.

It appears our sewer system has a bit of a clog (i.e. we may need to tear up the parking lot) and we might to use the auditorium of what used to be the local elementary school.

This also means that since there is no piano in the auditorium, our praise team would need to come up with songs for the morning service.

It took until about 7 PM to get permission and locate a key to the building, so we will start the timer at 7:30…

7:30 – arrive at the Church and collect the portable sound system
8:00 - arrive at the new location, set up chairs, tables, and sound system
8:30 – back to the Church for the drum kit and other odds and ends
9:00 – take my oldest son home (I am so thankful for him…)
9:10 – back to the new location to choose songs

** so it took about an hour and a half to move and set up – pretty good if you ask me, God is powerful!
we did spend a little time chit chatting about what other concerns this move may bring so not all of
the time was spent moving and setting up…

9:45 – home to make slides
11:45 – 88 powerpoint slides later – BED

Praise God for taking a cold, rain, boring Saturday evening and turning it into an adventure.

Thanks go to Nick (my 9 year old), Jerry, and Kyle for pitching in and getting the job done.

It is my prayer that the people of our Church remember not who moved the stuff, but that by the stuff being moved, that it is not where we have worship but whom we have worship with that makes a church.

- Joby

p.s. I will try to get some pictures and video from this mornings service…
