Obligatory New Year Post

Hey, how are ya!

I’m hoping since today is the 2nd of January that your hangovers are all gone and you are ready to move forward into the great unknown that is 2015.

It has been a while since I have posted more than an Instagram photo here on Joby’s Blog, but I think it is time for another change, starting with this post.

Today I will tell you what I have been up to over the past few months and where I hope to be heading as this year unfolds. So grab a cup of coffee and let’s get started.

We will start briefly in the middle of 2014, I was on vacation from work celebrating the yearly Christian Endeavor Convention when I received a phone call on my work cell. A call that would change the direction of our lives.

My boss was calling to inform me that I no longer had a job because my position has been eliminated. I wasn’t being fired, I was being laid off because my personal position was no longer an option.

I could go on about what horse crap that really is, but I have learned to look at this as a blessing. You know, always look at the bright side. God has a plan. That kind of lesson is always better than getting PO’d and running off at the mouth (or fingers.)

I found myself not only out of a job, but out of a phone. I had recently given up my personal cell phone plan as it was redundant carrying two phones all the time. Oh what doors this would open.

I had purchased a cell phone from a co-worker before losing the job that needed some repairs. Well, I now had the time so I took to Youtube to find out how to fix the phone. This lead me to realize that phone repair is something I could really get into. I liked it, it gave me a sense of accomplishment.

Since that time I have become pretty good at repairing iPhones and you can find my facebook page at http://facebook.com/thebaldfatguyscreenrepair – Check it out.

I have also spent some time taking some online web development courses at a little site called TreeHouse as well as one called Udemy where I am taking some iOS development classes. You are never too old to learn!

TheBaldFatGuy.com has gotten a make over and launched yesterday (January 1st) with a new review style. I am always in the market for new shaving products to review and shirts to wear while I am doing so. If you have any of either you would like to recommend, please feel free!

I am still in transition on my career, but I will not let that get me down. I have a faith that God does indeed have a plan and I will not let that falter.

Take care my friends. I will keep you posted much more often as I move throughout this adventure.

God Bless
