So I awoke today to find a message in my gmail account that I had received a new follower. I don’t get many followers at @baldfatguy so I took a gander.
To my surprise, the follower shared my first name of Joby…
I am unsure if Joby is a real name for them or a Nickname as it is for me, but you can be sure that I have ‘followed’ them back.
I visited Joby’s personal blog and found some interesting tidbits (hence the subject of this post)…
- Joby was once in a goth band called Leper.
- He lives in the Chicago area and loves to play music.
- He calls his home JPUSA.org (a Christian community in Chicago.)
- His blog is as eclectic as this one.
- He posts anything from poems to pictures of crazy stuff he has seen in the real world…
I am glad to have been befriended by a fellow Joby and may just make it a habit to search one out each Saturday morning for a fun post…

Hey there, Joby.
Ever since I realized that there *were* other people called Joby in the world (Seeing Joby Baker’s name in the credits of Blackbeard’s Ghost) I’ve been curious who else was out there.
Years ago I thought it would be fun to set up a listserv or something — some sort of internet “club” for people with our name. I never really did do anything about that.

I was going to use it for the same reason.
