The past couple of days have been a flurry of excitement.
Christmas morning the boys were up and ready to go by 7am. Paper was a flying and giggles and cheers abounded.
There were some happy tears too as my wife opened her gift from me. Although she knew what it was due to our five year old blurting it out when we got back from the purchase, her eyes welled up with tears to see her first Violin. My heart melted.
The rest of the room became non-existent as she tuned and rozzened her bow. She played around a bit and kept tuning. Nothing in the room existed to her in that time. I loved it. She needed that time and I was happy to have been able to supply it.
Then it happened. One final twist of the tuning key and ‘twiang’ Her first broken string
Back to the hustle and bustle for mommy… This will soon be remedied.
That afternoon we had a wonderful dinner at Kim’s parents house. Great food, Great Family, Great Times.
We returned home to have some time with my Mother. The boys were so excited to see what she had gotten them. It was great.
We had some issues with our Wii, but found out we have a bad controller so it will be an easy fix.
The next day, I went out with Joe and Brendan and did some GeoCaching. I helped them find 3 that I had already found and then we went searching for 3 that none of us had found. Great times. Out at 8am back by 11am – including 6 caches and breakfast
I went back to the Church to set up the sanctuary from the Christmas Eve service. I then spent some time talking to a couple of the older ladies who were there cleaning and making the bulletins. What a powerful hour getting to talk to them. I was humbled and grateful to speak with them.
I got home from the Church in time to change and head back to the in-laws for more food and the big present opening party
With the in-laws (2) their offspring (3) My Wife’s grandmother (1) My Wife’s Aunt and Uncle (2) and 7 grandkids (and one on the way) I don’t think I have to explain the number of presents and the lack of room left over
5 hours later we came home, got the boys in bed. I nodded off in my chair for a few then went to bed.
Today holds a little more fun before back to the reality of the Corporate working world.
We have Church until noon. Then Wal*Mart to get our Wii-Mote replaced and purchase another – Why does the Wii not come with two??? SRSLY – Then at 3 we hope to have a house full of good friends and more good times.
- Not bad for a 72 hour span eh?
- ‘Till next time.
