I'm a little shocked at the way your son's broke though. My kid has dropped, banged, smashed the hell out of his NDS (with no casing) and it's still in great working condition. He lost his charger in the middle of the year and I spent 2 days looking for another charger. The thing is, here in the Philippines they sell NDS Casings or Housing. Judging from the picture you showed it seems that it was only broken into half with both LCD displays intact. If you happen to have a store there that sells NDS Casings or Housings then all they have to do is replace the broken casing and in less than 20 minutes it's as good as new. .... Until your son breaks it again of course. :) Still, it would be good to let your son get a taste of the consequences of his carelessness. I too think it's a good lesson to learn. Just imagine when he becomes a teenager and wrecks your car? ..... Now somehow, I think that just gave the kid a week more with out the DS lite. :) Hope that helps.
