WOW – I cannot believe the amount of sugar my kids have been handed in the past 48 hours.
Sunday morning they were both given a small treat bag from one of the ladies at church. She is a sweetheart of a woman who bakes like a 5 star chef. She has Diabetes, yet she is constantly giving my kids lollipops and candy. I guess if she can’t eat it she will give it to the kids so she can have it via osmosis LOL.
Sunday night we went to the Fall Festival at church. Before the party started, one lady had given my sons each two lollipops! They then competed in some games where they won more candy. Just before leaving guess what they handed out… Yup bags of candy!!!
Last night was the oldest boys Cub Scout halloween party. One look around the room I swear to you I saw what could have been collectively weighed as 30 pounds of candy. There was candy in bowls, candy in bags, candy hanging from string as part of the games…
I have decided not to buy any candy to passout this Halloween, I will just pour all of the candy they have gotten so far into a bowl and pass it out to the kids as they come to my door!
The good thing is, my kids are not big candy eaters. The sad thing is, I AM!!!

LOL, I completely feel you here. And they’ve yet to go trick or treating..sigh. Well, maybe you can try what I do every year. Let them eat as much as they want on Halloween night (or whenever your major celebration is), and then put the rest away, giving them one or two pieces a day. The only problem with this theory is that they usually still have some left by Christmas. In this case, I accidentally throw the rest away when no one’s looking. LOL.
