I saw myself today.

No, I am not talking about my normal see my face in the mirror while I shave or brush my teeth kinda saw myself. I mean I saw the me that others see.

As part of my training this week, I had to do a presentation. I had to stand infront of the class and speak to them for 5 – 7 minutes about a work related topic. My topic was the major project I have been working on since the end of May. Anyhow, back to seeing myself.

The instructors did not bother to tell us that while we were giving our presentations, we were going to be video taped (or in my case sent straight to DVD.)

When it was my turn I calmly walked to the front of the room and waited for my introduction. My presentation went just about as well as I had expected it to; perhaps even better than I expected. Mind you, I had very low expectations considering we were given less than 48 hours to complete it – including powerpoint. As I was saying, it went pretty well.

I knew it was coming. I had seen the instructor hand DVS’s to the ones before me. I even thought,”ah heck, I can handle this.” until…

I went into the viewing room. Just me, the DVD, and the LCD television. I put the DVD in the player, I pushed play, I gasped!

I have always joked and kidded with my Youth Group letting them call me the Bald Fat Guy, but until today I was not aware of just how true that was.

See I have not shaved my head in about 3 days so the stubble is starting to come back. I got a good look a the back of my head and realized that if I do not shave soon, it will be really evident as to why I shave it in the first place

Oh, and whoever said the camera adds 10 lbs was lying… it is more like 100 lbs!
