Sorry for not posting what happened.
Long story short I hit a deer in October in a van that the church rented. We were on our way home from Fall Retreat.
Being that the van was rented, the church insurance was covering things. I did not have an insurance card for that reason.
The DMV sent a registered letter to Thrifty Car Rental which they signed for, but never followed through with. That letter stated that my license would be suspended if they did not submit proof of insurance. That was some time in March. When Thrifty did not send the information, the DMV marked my license as suspended.
I was able to contact the DMV with the policy number from our insurance and my license was cleared.
I made a call to Thrifty, asked them why they did not send the information. The lady insisted that they never got such a letter. I told her that I knew for a FACT that they had cause the DMV told me that it was signed for. She said she would call me back with the policy number. That was almost 2 weeks ago.
Bottom line???
1- I will never rent from Thrifty Car Rental again. Not for personal nor church use. Period. End of Story!
2 – I will probably not volunteer to drive a van for the church for a while… but if you know me, you know that won’t last!
