Yeah, I know it has been 10 days since my last post.
Time is just not a friend to me lately. I will get better I promise.

Well it has been a while since I last wrote of anything personal.
I had a bit of a scare at work Monday morning. I had not even started my computer up when the second in charge in our group called me over saying that something I had done of Friday had raised a “red flag” with the VP of our Business Support Center.
I cannot go into detail obviously, but let’s just say we quickly found that our Knowledge Base needed a swift updating.
For the first time at any job, I did not feel immediately like packing my things. The way everyone involved handled the situation made me feel very comfortable with what had happened.
On Tuesday, my boss asked me to help him with a project that our GM needed information on as quickly as possible. I was chosen to help because I have recently been given the task of handling all of the new hire requests. The GM wanted to know if the procedure that has been in place for almost a year was working as they had hoped. I quickly found that it is not. It is too easy to bypass the procedure by asking for individual portions separately.
Long story short, I was asked to write up my first recommendation of how to handle such a situation if it were to continue to arise. In the end my supervisor was very grateful with the recommendation. We are not sure if/when the recommendation will be put into motion.
On Thursday, I was informed that I would soon be taking over as the primary contact for our badging system. Not only for the actual badging process, but also when/if there are software/hardware upgrades needed to the system.
This was put into action of Friday as the two individuals currently in charge of the system were out of the office. I spent the greater part of the day working with the Rep to finalize what the other two had been working on for the past week or so. It was a great experience.
I have now been with USS for a month and really feel I have been blessed with this job. I am somewhere that my opinion is not only welcome, but asked for.
