It has been over a week.

Hello everyone,

It has been over a week since I last posted. A far cry from my original goal to post at least once a day.

I have been busy with a myriad of projects and such.

Last Saturday, my youth group participated in a Rock-a-thon to raise money for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We rocked in rocking chairs from 6am to 6pm. During that time, the youth played video games on the PS2 and Wii systems. The cool part was I projected the games on the wall of fellowship hall. I really did not have to remind them to ‘rock’ as often as I thought I would. In total we raised about $500.00.

The kids decided to do the RAT in order to honor a lady from the congregation who is battling the disease. She came to visit and brought the kids snacks and wristbands. It was really pretty moving.

Sunday, we presented her with a T-shirt like the ones we wore Saturday while we rocked. Many of us cried.

Also on Sunday, the youth prepared a spaghetti dinner for the church in order to raise money for the upcoming Christian Endeavor Convention which is going to be held at our church this summer.

Kim and I are VERY proud of our youth group :)

On Monday I received an email from US Steel’s IT manager. He had looked at my resume’ and my website and wanted to know if I would be interested in interviewing for a position in their Security Administration department. I responded with a resounding YES!

Tuesday I spent the day coding modifications for a couple of my web clients.

Wednesday came with a phone call from US Steel to set up my interview on 2-27-08 – Happiness followed :)

It creates a sitemap from the user profiles, the current projects, and other associated files like the index, privacy, etc pages. It then submits the sitemap to Google, Yahoo, Ask, and MSN/Live so the information can be indexed in their searches. I then placed the addon for sale at Freelancer-Upgrades.com.

That pretty much sums up what I have been doing for the past week or so.

So, thank you all who donated for the RAT. I am truly proud of the kids for taking on such an awesome cause. If you were unable to donate toward the RAT, we will be participating in the 30 Hour Famine this April. If you wish to sponsor the youth in this event, please contact me.

During the 30 Hour Famine, the youth will not eat for 30 hours. They will be staying up all night participating in planned activities. At the end of the 30 hours, they will ‘Break’ the fast with Communion, followed by food prepared by members of the congregation. Proceeds go to World Vision.

‘Till next time.
